We are dedicated to our beloved spaniels and are located at the edge of the Texas Hill Country.  We became interested in Cavaliers in 1996.  AKC considers the Cavalier to be in the Toy Dog classification.  We were looking for a specific type of dog to share our home and the Cavaliers fit that requirement because of their size, temperament, and their loving and sweet nature.  We purchased our first boy, Gizmo, in July 1997.  The second addition to our pack was our girl Bailey in January 1998.   We were blessed with our first litter - six healthy happy puppies in July 1999.   Our second litter was born in November 2000 and Bailey  gave us a litter of nine healthy happy puppies (by the way, a litter of nine is a lot of fun, but very demanding and A LOT OF WORK). Bailey has now retired from Showing and breeding and is enjoying the life of leisure here at Ruex Ruex.

We first saw the Tibetan Spaniels when we were researching the Cavaliers.  Being new into showing dogs we first started with the Cavalier since they were single coated breed.  Tibbies are double coated and at that time I thought it would be a lot more care for a beginner.  However, we continued to be enamored by the Tibbie.  We finally got our first Tibbie in 2005.  Tibbies are classified as Non-Sporting in the dog world.  They were originally used in the Tibetan Monasteries as alert dogs while the Tibetan Mastiffs were the guard dogs.  Tibbies would patrol the Top Edge of the monasteries and alert their masters and the guard dogs of visitors.  They would also keep the laps of the monks warm while they meditated.  The monks would rarely give a Tibbie as a gift to those they felt were worthy.

While I love showing my dogs, I enjoy the warm fuzzies I have with each litter.  We continue to selectively build our kennel with and from carefully selected breeding stock chosen for the betterment of the breed.

We want our entire home to be filled with these wonderful companion animals God created.  We feel we are truly blessed with these wonderful creatures sharing and enriching our lives.

Thank you for visiting with us,
